Client Support Officer (OA)

The Client Support Officers reported to the Customer Services Manager within the Information Systems Management Division of the Department of Internal Affairs. My specialist responsibility was for the "marketing" of the Complete Electronic Office (CEO) office automation product, and for general client liaison.

Duties included:

• Needs analysis for internal Business Units.
• Preparation of RFI and RFT documents.
• Client liaison and management.
• Vendor liaison
• Project management.

Achievements included:

• National Archives relocation using RepoMan software and subsequently the development of PCS (Production Control System) software.
• Rollout of improved voice network services with installation of PBXs in the four main centres and Centrex at 10 new branch offices, providing Desk to Desk dialling and toll-bypass facilities.

Restructuring of the Department's IT services, mainly the consolidation of the Parliamentary On-Line Information group and ISMD resulted in the disestablishment of the Client Support Officer position. I was retained in the role of Network Administrator.
